Garcia, Kvitova win in first round of Berlin Open

No. 3 seed Carolina Garcia beat Sabine Lisicki 7-6 (2), 6-3, while two-time Wimbledon champ Petra Kvitova beat Karolina Pliskova 6-3, 6-4 to advance out of the first round of the Berlin Open on Monday.
