Short-handed Reds acquire OF Slater from Giants

Fresh off being swept at home by the Detroit Tigers in a weekend series, the short-handed Cincinnati Reds dealt for outfielder Austin Slater from the San Francisco Giants late Sunday night, a day before opening a home series against the Colorado Rockies.
