Top Seeded Yankees Get Jobbed By Playoff Schedule Makers If you ask me, Major League Baseball made a pretty significant scheduling snafu for this year's playoffs. No, it wasn't the change in home field setup that baseball introduced for the divisional round, where the four higher seeded teams (Yankees, A's, Reds, Nationals) opened their best-of-five series with two games on the road followed by three at home, a switch from the previous 2-2-1 format that allowed the higher seeds to both open and close on their home fields.
