Ed Young, who writes the "Not Exactly Rocket Science" blog for Discover Magazine (and is in my opinion one of the best science writers around), has posted a remarkable video on YouTube of European catfish that have adapted to hunt pigeons on land. Dubbed "freshwater killer whales" by scientists researching the phenomena, these voracious predators--not native to European waters--temporarily beach themselves to grab their prey, much like Argentinian killer whales do when hunting sea lions...
