Facebook Is Down In New York, Texas And Elsewhere In U.S., Cause Unknown

The Next Web and Gizmodo are reporting that many users in the U.S. are reporting that Facebook is down tonight. Here, in Maine, it's working fine, so I can confirm that the outage, though large, is localized. Instagram does not sem affected. Gizmodo suggests that "typing '.' before the usual facebook.com into your browser has helped a few users get through." Give it a try if the site is down for you.
