Americans don't pay much attention to Olympic sports during non-Olympic years, but track and field figures that could change for itself thanks to a 17-year-old named Mary Cain. With her second-place finish over the weekend at the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Des Moines, the high school senior-to-be from Bronxville, N.Y., became what it is believed to be the youngest member of a U.S. team to compete in track's world championships, scheduled for Moscow in mid-August.
