When I first entered the workforce as a field sales rep for an industrial supply company, I considered myself a lone wolf--the master of my own destiny. It didn't take long for me to figure out that I was wrong. Like it or not, I was part of a team. I depended on the inside sales desk, the guys in the warehouse, our delivery drivers, and our suppliers to all execute on their respective roles. It didn't matter how good I thought I was; if they dropped the ball, I wasn't successful.
