Jenkins elected chairman of Eastern Pequot council

NORTH STONINGTON, Conn. (AP) -- Members of the Eastern Pequot Tribal Nation in Connecticut have elected a retired state trooper as the new tribal council chairman, after the former council leader was charged with misusing more than $60,000 in tribal funds.
