Navy center in RI to launch new sensor facility

NEWPORT, R.I. (AP) -- The Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport is preparing to formally inaugurate a facility that includes a massive tower designed to repair and certify periscopes, submarine communication systems, electronic warfare equipment as well as imaging and optical systems.
