Polls Close, Independence Vote Counting Starts

Polling stations closed in Edinburgh on Thursday (September 18) evening after a day of voting in an historic referendum on Scottish independence. Voting ended at 2100GMT with surveys suggesting Scots were almost equally divided in a referendum watched closely by Britain's allies, investors and restive regions at home and abroad.
