Alabama Official Ordered to Issue Marriage Licenses to Gay Couples

Same-sex marriages are back on in parts of Alabama. A federal judge ordered a state official to comply with an earlier ruling, striking down the state's ban on same-sex marriages. Robert Povilat and Milton Persinger were the first couple in line. Outside the courthouse in Mobile County, the two wasted no time in tying the knot and exchanging their vows. An Alabama Supreme Court Justice had ordered state judges to refrain from issuing marriage licenses to gay couples.
