Up to 9,000 jobs, including team leaders at larger supermarkets, to be shed a month after 43 store closures were announced Tesco is preparing to shed up to 9,000 jobs in a turnaround plan that would remove a layer of management in larger supermarkets in addition to slimming its head office and closing outlets. Dave Lewis, Tesco's new chief executive, is thought to be planning to remove team leaders within the chain's larger stores, potentially affecting about 3,000 staff.
