F.A.O. Schwarz, the oldest toy store in the US, is shutting down its famous store in New York. The company is unable to keep up with rising retail rents on Fifth Avenue, and will be exiting the General Motors building by July 15. In the meantime, the company is also looking for a suitable location in Manhattan, one which would be less costly than Fifth Avenue. It is also looking for jobs for the 200 employees it had working at that store.
