At least 3.09 million people have been displaced in Iraq between January 2014 and June 4, 2015, reports a statement by the International Organization for Migration. More than 276,000 people were displaced between April and June alone, due to fighting in Anbar's provincial capital of Ramadi, which eventually slipped out of Iraqi control and into the hands of the Islamic State. 638,000 of the displaced are accommodated in shelters.
