General Electric Company (NYSE:GE) won a contract to build a wind farm in Australia, as part of its long-term strategy to expand its industrial-based businesses. As part of the deal, General Electric will invest approximately 450 million Australian dollars and will supply wind turbines, which will generate up to 240 megawatts at the Ararat wind farm located in the state of Victoria. The wind farm is being developed with the support of partners, including Renewable Energy Systems Limited.
