T-Mobile has settled a case with the FCC, agreeing to pay $17.5 million for the problems caused by the company's 3-hour emergency call outage last year. The two 911 outages caused on August 8, 2014 were related and affected T-Mobile's 50 million customers across the country. The FCC believed that had T-Mobile anticipated the issue, it could have prevented it, and that the company did not properly inform officials of the issue beforehand.
