Shipwreck Off Israeli Coast Identified As Baron De Rothschild's Ship Over 100 Years Later

The fate of a ship sent to Israel by Baron Edmond de Rothschild in the 1890s may finally have been uncovered, after researchers identified Monday a wreckage off the north shore of Israel as the 19th century ship. While the wreckage was discovered off Dor Beach near Zichron Ya'acov, Israel in 1976, researchers positively verified its identity Monday.
