Carmaker has doubled its provision for fixing cars affected by the diesel emissions scandal Volkswagen has slumped to its first annual loss in more than 20 years after making a €16.2bn (£12.6bn) provision for costs relating to the diesel emissions scandal. This pushed VW into an operating loss of €4.1bn for 2015, bigger than analysts had expected and the company's first annual loss since 1993, after a €12.7bn profit in 2014.
