At 1,732ft above sea level, Yorkshire pub the Tan Hill Inn needs owner with stamina, eccentricity and love, says landlady A pub which holds the record for being the highest in the UK is going on for sale for £900,000. The 17th-century Tan Hill Inn in the Yorkshire Dales stands 1,732 ft (528m) above sea level. It was named the highest in the British Isles by the Guinness Book of World Records in 1976, beating the Cat and Fiddle Inn in the Peak District with an elevation of 1,690 feet (515m).
