Michigan governor extends coronavirus state of emergency until May 28

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) on Thursday extended a coronavirus state of emergency declaration through May 28, saying "common sense and all of the scientific data tells us we're not out of the woods yet." The Republican-controlled state legislature did not approve her order to extend the declaration, which was set to expire on Friday.
