Seattle experiences record temperatures as heat wave overtakes the Pacific Northwest

On Saturday afternoon, the temperature in Seattle topped off at 99 degrees Fahrenheit, making it the record hottest June day, according to the National Weather Service. In other parts of the region, many towns and cities shattered their previous records as temperatures are 30 degrees above normal for this time of year.
