Mayor-elect Adams taps Keechant Sewell as first female NYPD commissioner

Keechant Sewell, the chief of detectives for the Nassau County Police Department, will take charge of the NYPD as the first female commissioner in the department's 176-year history after Adams is sworn in on Jan. 1, the sources said.
