Venice rolls out day-tripper fee to try to regulate mass crowds on peak weekends

Venice and other popular tourist sites have long grappled with practical ways to prevent 'overtourism'; in response the Italian tourism mecca has now rolled out a daily entrance fee for day-trippers.
